WHERE TO STAY?

We just got back from our last Disney trip of the year, and decided to stay somewhere new. Usually, we stay at the Sheraton (what used to be the "Majestic Garden Inn" or "the castle hotel") and we liked it, but found the shuttle to be a hassle. We've stayed at super 8 before, but walking almost a mile back to your hotel after walking all day felt unnecessary.
We chose the Tropicana in Anaheim after multiple rave reviews from family members and friends. After staying a week there ourselves, we thought we'd give you our review.
STAY HERE. it's wonderful. The price is completely reasonable, almost always under $140/night and you are right across the street from the Disneyland entrance. We timed it, and in a seven minute walk (with no crazy security check in line that is) you are in the parks! We were able to take breaks throughout the day, drop off things we bought and walk back without any hassle!
Tropicana has a pool and hot tub, but we didn't use it because apparently it does get f**king cold in December in LA! But we did witness brave souls swimming and they seemed to enjoy it.
They have laundry on site for our readers with little ones, this might be helpful. It's $4/load , but at least it's on site!
There is a store and cafe downstairs with much cheaper water and snack options than Disneyland and some cheesy souvenirs too.
The rooms are spacious enough. We had two queen beds and a pull out couch bed and still had plenty of room to hide our suitcases away and store our clothes. The rooms are mostly plain but adorably painted with palm trees above the bed. The room has great amenities with hair dryer, ironing board, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Some of these are obviously typical, but it's actually really tricky to find a decent hotel with a microwave and fridge! The beds themselves are the only complaint , they're not comfortable at all, but for all the other amenities it was worth the one complaint.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat , and we recommend you do to! If you have any questions , DM us @thebellsandthemouse or email us at natalie@thebellsandthemouse.com !
